Important Dates 2010

NB All higher degree research (HDR) Candidature Applications (except those for Professional Doctorates) are continuously accepted throughout the year. Closing dates for Professional Doctorate programs are listed below. Please refer to the Scholarships section for scholarship application deadlines.

1 January First half year commences
15 January Last day to submit requests to transfer to another program or Department or Faculty for first half year
25 January Due date for first half year fees for fee-paying continuing candidates, except for those enrolled in a DBA program. Candidates enrolled in DBA are required to check eStudent for confirmation on their fee liability.
7 February Census Date for continuing HDR candidates
Last day for continuing candidates to submit requests for change in first half year for:
  • changes to study load (to/from full/part time)
  • changes to study mode (to/from internal/external)
  • changes from international to permanent resident status
15 February Orientation day for new commencing international research candidates in first half year
19 February
  • Compulsory Central Commencement Program held on-campus for all new research candidates in first half year
  • Enrolment date for all Doctor of Psychology and combined PhD/Master in Psychology candidates for first half year
  • Last day for continuing candidates to submit requests to enrol in or change Higher Degree Compulsory Coursework (HDCC) units and Higher Degree Research Training (HDRT) units for first half year
22 February Academic year commences for candidates enrolled in first half year coursework units
31 March Last day for discontinuance of HDCC or HDRT units
30 May Closing date for DPsy and combined PhD/Master - Psychology applications for second half year 2010 (to be confirmed)
1 July Second half year commences
15 July Last day to submit requests to transfer to another program or Department or Faculty for second half year
25 July Due date for second half year fees for fee-paying continuing candidates, except for those enrolled in a DBA program. Candidates enrolled in DBA are required to check eStudent for confirmation on their fee liability.
29 July Orientation for new commencing international research candidates in second half year
30 July Compulsory Central Commencement Program held on-campus for all new research candidates for second half year
2 August Official commencement for candidates enrolled in second half year coursework units
7 August Census date for continuing HDR candidatesLast day for continuing candidates to submit requests for change in second half year for:
  • changes to study load (to/from full/part time)

21 August Last day for continuing candidates to submit requests to enrol in or change HDCC and HDRT units for second half year

  • Closing date for 2011 International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS)
11 October Commencement of the Annual Progress Report review process for continuing candidates
31 October Closing date for Australian Postgraduate Award scholarship applications (for domestic students only) for commencement in first half year 2011
5 November Last day for completed Annual Progress Reports to be returned to Faculty
